Kamarulzaman Kamarudin was born in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. He obtained his primary education at Sultan Yussuf School, Batu Gajah and his secondary education at Sekolah Dato’ Abdul Razak Seremban. He then took Cambridge’s `A’ levels at Mara College Seremban as a part of requirements to study Bachelor of Engineering in New Zealand.
Kamarulzaman received his first degree at University of Canterbury, New Zealand in Mechatronics Engineering. he went on to pursue Ph.D in Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and graduated in the year 2016. Kamarulzaman is now working as Senior Lecturer and Deputy Dean of Industrial Networking and Quality Management at Faculty of Electrical UniMAP. He is also the lead researcher for Robotics and Automation Division at the Center of Excellence for Advanced Sensor Technology (CEASTech). His research interests include Robotics, SLAM, Image & 3D Point Cloud Processing and Odour Sensing & Mapping.
Kamarulzaman has published over 50 articles and serves as editorial board member of Journal of Electronic and Information System. He had also been invited as speaker and consultant to share his research on Robotics at the Universities in Japan, India, Thailand and Malaysia.
